Manny Manzone shot even-par 72 on Monday to take medalist honors for the second straight week in WSC No. 6 men's golf action at San Dimas Canyon GC. Will Barnett of Canyons also shot 72 and tied for first place.

Canyons won its fifth WSC team title with 374 strokes. The host school Citrus was second at 380, followed by Ventura (386) and SBCC (400).

The Cougars (40-2) extended their lead in the WSC standings to seven games over Ventura (33-9) and eight ahead of the Vaqueros (32-10) with five tournaments remaining.

Manzone has been the medalist five times this year, including three of his last four tourneys. Tyler Murata shot 79 for the Vaqueros and Niels Andersen turned in an 81.

"It was pretty windy today and a little rainy," said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. "We didn't play very well. We had a lot of big numbers and we're in a little bit of a funk right now.

"We'll take a few days off for Spring Break and try to rejuvenate ourselves."

SBCC will play in WSC No. 7 on Monday, April 4 at Santa Maria Country Club, starting at 1 p.m.
