Cerritos has been a powerhouse in men's tennis the last couple of years and the Falcons showed their stuff on Tuesday in a 9-0 win over visiting SBCC.

The Falcons (1-0) swept all six singles and only dropped 19 games. The Vaqueros fell to 0-3.

Cerritos went 27-2 last year and 24-4 in 2016.

"It was a tough loss to a really good team," said coach Chris McBride. "Guillaume Daurelle battled in his second set at No. 1 singles and almost forced a third set. Albert Chami lost his first set 6-3 and then fought to a 4-1 lead before dropping a 6-4 decision in the second."

The Vaqueros will play a pair of Orange Empire Conference teams on Thursday at Saddleback in Mission Viejo and Friday at Fullerton.
