Nevin wins APC award with school-record 28 tackles

SBCC linebacker Morgan Nevin was picked as the American Pacific Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a record-setting performance in a 38-17 loss to first-place Santa Monica.

Nevin, a 6-1, 230-pound sophomore from Truckee, Calif., was honored for the third time this season after making a school-record 28 tackles, including 10 solo. He leads the state with 126 tackles in eight games and his average of 15.8 per game is nearly five better than the No. 2 tackler.

The Vaqueros (6-2, 3-2 APC) hope to snap a two-game losing streak when they host Glendale (5-3, 3-2) in their home finale on Saturday at 6 p.m.
