Four Vaqueros receive All-State honors

SBCC’s Jacob Ortale and Isaac McClain pulled off a rare feat when they were named to the CCCAA All-State football team for the second straight year.

Ex-Vaquero Wishnowsky wins Ray Guy Award as nation’s best punter

Mitch Wishnowsky, an All-State punter on the SBCC football team in 2014, won the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s top punter. The 6-3 sophomore from Gosnells, Western Australia kicked for the University of Utah this year and was second in the nation in punting average (48.0 yards).

Vaquero rally falls short in wild 47-40 shootout

Ventura scored three touchdowns in the last 4:55 of the opening half in Saturday night’s football opener, then SBCC rallied back to within seven points on two occasions before the Pirates pulled out a wild 47-40 victory in front of 2,250 at the VC Sportsplex.
