Walker, McCain named to All-WSC team

Thomas Walker and Alonzo McCain have been selected to the 2015 All-WSC North men’s basketball team as honorable mention choices.

Thomas Walker and Alonzo McCain have been selected to the 2015 All-WSC North men's basketball team as honorable mention choices.

Walker, a 6-7 sophomore center from Aliso Niguel, led the Vaqueros in scoring (12.0), rebounding (6.0) and field-goal percentage (52.2). McCain, a 5-10 sophomore guard from San Bernardino, averaged 5.2 points, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds.

Walker averaged 15.0 points in his last five games. His single-game highs were 23 points vs. Victor Valley on Dec. 13 and 13 rebounds vs. Oxnard on Jan. 10. McCain was second on the team in FG percentage (46.0) with single-game highs of 20 points on Dec. 11 vs. San Diego Miramar and six assists vs. Glendale and Victor Valley.

Rusty Blair of Cuesta was the Coach of the Year. Trey Archambeau of L.A. Pierce, Rafael Casanova of Cuesta and Kadeem Minor of Hancock shared the Player of the Year award.
