Devin Engebretsen was the associate head coach for men's and women's basketball the last two years. He's been named the head coach of men's basketball and women's golf.
Engebretsen is new head coach for men's basketball

Devin Engebretson and Don Willis have been selected as head coaches of four SBCC sports teams, athletic director Rocco Constantino announced on Wednesday. Engebretsen will coach men's basketball and women's golf while Willis, a former NFL lineman, will coach men's and women's track & field.

Hodges, Melendez to retire after 61 years of coaching

The two longest-tenured coaches in SBCC history are calling it a career with 61 combined years as teachers and head coaches.

Hancock shot 51.4% on Saturday afternoon, dominated the backboards (44-24) and took advantage of 29 turnovers to down SBCC 94-63 in a WSC North men's basketball game in Santa Maria.

Ventura shoots lights-out in 2nd half of 81-54 win over Vaqueros

SBCC took a 31-27 halftime lead over first-place Ventura on Saturday night in the Sports Pavilion. Then the Pirates went lights-out in the second half, making 21-of-25 shots (84.0%) to pull out an 81-54 men's basketball triumph.
