Men’s Golf Earns Two All-WSC Honorees
By Jimmy Friery
After winning the final two Western State Conference (WSC) events—including the WSC Championships—the Vaqueros had Hugo de Mollerat du Jeu and Reynaldo Rodriguez named to the All-WSC Team for Men's Golf.
Most notably, the Vaqueros' pair were phenomenal at the 36-hole WSC Championships early last week. Rodriguez, a freshman, shot a 139—tied for the best score on the day. No one shot better than his 68 in the second round, helping Santa Barbara finish two strokes above Canyons. He also had the best score at WSC #4, shooting a 68 (-4) to help the Vaqueros earn second that day.
De Mollerat du Jeu was one stroke behind his teammate at the Championships, shooting a 140. The week prior, when the Vaqueros won WSC #8, he tied for the best score of the day with a 72. Naturally, that score was crucial to the team's win by one stroke.
The Vaqueros look forward to competing at the SoCal Regionals this coming Monday at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.
UPDATE: Men's Golf hosted their 2026 season banquet at the Tee-off on Tuesday, May 19. Hugo de Mollerat du Jeu was honored with the Vaquero Award as the team's Most Valuable Player.
