VENTURA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City College Men's Golf team placed sixth at the SoCal Regionals on Monday at Olivas Links Golf Course, just a few strokes shy of the fifth-place finish needed to qualify for State.
Hugo de Mollerat du Jeu (148) and Reynaldo Rodriguez (154) both qualified for State as individuals. De Mollerat du Jeu hit a 74 in both rounds to finish tied for ninth of 68 golfers. Rodriguez hit a 77 in both rounds, tied for 27th.
Aidan Watts was a grueling one stroke shy of qualifying for State, tallying a 78 and 77 for a 155 overall. Brayden Mlodzik made the scoresheet in round one, shooting a 77, and Mason Gredvig's 81 got him on the scoresheet in round two.
Thus, the Vaqueros' team season ends with a second-place Western State Conference (WSC) finish, WSC Championships victory, and SoCal Regionals appearance. De Mollerat du Jeu and Rodriguez will compete at the State Championships on Sunday and Monday at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta.
