Jon Newton, who turned the SBCC men's volleyball program into one of the top teams in the state, is stepping down as head coach after four seasons.

Busenhart has season-high 14 kills as No. 4 Vaqueros sweep San Diego Mesa

Brigg Busenhart had a season-high 14 kills on Saturday, leading No. 4 SBCC to a 3-0 sweep of San Diego Mesa at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 25-19, 25-20 25-23.

Vaqueros ace L.A. Pierce 3-0 for sixth straight win

SBCC recorded a season-high 15 aces on Wednesday night in a 3-0 sweep of L.A. Pierce at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 25-18, 25-12, 25-13.

Keoni Thiim collected a season-high 21 kills and 10 digs on Friday night as No. 4 SBCC upset No. 2 El Camino 3-2 in a WSC men's volleyball match in Torrance. The scores were 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 24-26, 16-14.

Vaqueros rally for second straight 3-2 victory

SBCC spotted Fullerton a 2-0 lead on Wednesday night, then roared back to take the last three sets and pull out its second straight 3-2 victory on the road. The scores were 25-27, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 15-10.

No. 5 Vaqueros rally past No. 7 Irvine Valley, 3-2

Keoni Thiim ripped 15 kills and hit .500 on Wednesday to spark No. 5 SBCC to a 3-2 comeback win at No. 7 Irvine Valley. The scores were 25-21, 21-25, 24-26, 25-20, 15-11.

Keoni Thiim and Trent Lingruen combined for 37 kills on Friday night as SBCC stunned No. 1 Orange Coast 3-1 for its first men's volleyball win of the season. The scores were 25-23, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22.

Santiago Canyon sweeps Vaqueros, 3-0

SBCC suffered its second straight road setback on Wednesday as Santiago Canyon registered a 3-0 men's volleyball sweep in Orange, Calif. The scores were 25-23, 25-13, 25-22.

San Diego Miramar slips past No. 6 Vaqueros, 3-1

San Diego Miramar edged SBCC by two points in sets three and four on Friday afternoon to spoil the Vaqueros' season opener 3-1 in San Diego. The scores were 25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24.
