SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — After a week with 39 kills, a .311 hitting percentage, 10 aces, and two crucial conference wins, Vaquero Men's Volleyball pin hitter Mykolas Petritias was deservedly named CCCMVCA North Player of the Week. Read the full announcement here.
The Ventura native has been having a stellar season, emphasized this week by a few career highs. In the sweep over Pierce on Wednesday, he served nine aces, smashing his previous high of four. On Friday hosting No. 4 Santa Monica, his 24 kills ironically beat the 23 he had in the first matchup this season against the Corsairs.
Moreover, his contributions in the five-set win against Santa Monica pushed the No. 3 Vaqueros to the top spot in the Northern Region standings.
Santa Barbara has two road matches this week—on Wednesday at El Camino and Friday at Fullerton.
