Vaqueros seeded 9th for South Regional, will travel to No. 8 Grossmont

SBCC was seeded No. 9 for the Southern Regional softball playoffs and will travel to No. 8 Grossmont for a best-of-three series next weekend in El Cajon. Game 1 is Saturday at 3 p.m., Game 2 will be Sunday at noon and Game 3 will follow, if necessary.

Lauren Bodden belted a solo home run and Lyndsi King delivered a three-run shot over the center-field fence on Friday, sparking SBCC to an efficient 8-0, five-inning softball win over L.A. Pierce. The game was over in 55 minutes.

Throw the ball, catch the ball, hit the ball. The pitchers and catcher got it done for SBCC on Sunday as the Vaqueros posted a pair of shutouts to claim the title in their Bash at the Beach softball tournament at Pershing Park. Santa Barbara blanked Saddleback 8-0 in six innings and beat Fullerton 2-0 in the championship game.
