Vaqueros Prepare for Playoffs, Collect Conference Honors
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara City College women's basketball team wrapped up its regular season on Friday with a 65-60 loss to Cuesta College, finishing the year at 21-6 (9-3 WSC).
"The second half of conference play had us on the road for five of six games," head coach Sandrine Krul said. "I'm really proud of my team for pushing through that adversity. Only having one home game in the second round was a true test of our resolve."
The Vaqueros earned the No. 11 seed in the 2025 3C2A Basketball SoCal Regionals and will host No. 22 Imperial Valley on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Pavilion. The winner will advance to face No. 6 Palomar on Saturday.
This marks Santa Barbara's first 21-win season since 2010-11 and its best conference record since 2009-10.
Several Vaqueros received Western State Conference - North All-Conference honors:

Kaylee Lawson was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Kaylee Bosetti, Aariah Fox, Lawson, and Isis Poteet earned First Team All-Conference honors.

Poteet averaged 12.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, earning Second Team All-State recognition.
