SBCC Comes Up Short in 2OT Battle, Highlights Tough Stretch

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The Vaqueros delivered their most resilient performance of the season, pushing Chaffey into double overtime before ultimately falling 112–102 on Saturday, despite a combined 49 points from sisters Milan Jackson and Khaya Jackson.
Santa Barbara has dropped four straight contests.
SBCC kept the score close throughout, trading baskets with Chaffey in a back-and-forth affair.
The Vaqueros trailed 41–33 at halftime but battled back in the second half to force double overtime.
Santa Barbara shot 39.4% from the field and 34.5% from three-point range, making six of 10 free throws, while Chaffey converted 58.6% of their shots and 66.7% from the line.
Turnovers were costly for the Vaqueros, with 21 miscues leading directly to 27 points for the Panthers.
Aariah Fox and Siena Hoban nearly finished with triple-doubles. Fox had 11 points, 12 rebounds, 7 steals and 5 assists, while Hoban totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.
Santa Barbara finished with 49 rebounds, including 31 second-chance points compared to Chaffey's 18, and scored 34 points from the bench, keeping the game tightly contested despite Chaffey's 60 points in the paint and 16 fastbreak points.
The teams combined for seven lead changes and 11 ties, highlighting the intensity and resilience of SBCC on the road.
Despite the loss, head coach Sandrine Krul praised the team's resilience and effort in what she called one of the most memorable games of her 22-year coaching career.
SBCC looks to regroup as they travel to Antelope Valley on Wednesday, Dec. 3, with tip-off scheduled for 5 p.m.
