Chang named SBART Athlete of the Week

SBCC's Carolin Chang was selected as female Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.

The freshman golfer from Taiwan was honored during Monday's press luncheon at Harry's Plaza Café for winning the CCCAA State Individual Championship on Nov. 15-16 at Morro Bay Golf Course. The award goes to the top performance by a student-athlete from all the local high schools and colleges in the Santa Barbara area.

Chang shot 76 and 75 for a 36-hole total of 7-over 151 and was named to the All-State team. She topped the field by three shots and helped the Vaqueros capture their fourth state title in the last 10 years.

Chang was the WSC Player of the Year and Southern Cal champion. She won eight of 14 tournaments with three seconds and two thirds. She shot par or better in eight of her first 12 rounds and finished with a 73.4 stroke average.
