Escalante named SBART Athlete of the Week

Freshman Jessica Escalante has been named female Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table. The award goes to the top performance from all the local high schools and colleges.

The former Dos Pueblos High standout won the 100 (12.82) and 200 (26.61) in the WSC Coastal track and field meet last Friday. She also ran a leg on the victorious 4 x 100 relay team.

The Vaqueros finished third in a tight battle with just 23.5 points separating the top three in the six-school competition.

SBCC will compete in the Orange Coast Classic on Friday in Costa Mesa.
