Sweep at Cuesta Secures Niksto’s 100th SBCC Win

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros women's volleyball head coach Kat Niksto won her 100th game as the Vaqueros bested Cuesta Cougars 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-14) in San Luis Obispo on Friday.

"Everyone contributed in our win over Cuesta. It's always nice when the entire team can get involved in a match," said Niksto. "I wish we could have played a little cleaner on our side of the net, but the girls know I am always pushing them to be their best, regardless of the competition. I was happy to get another win on the road. Sweeps are always nice because it means we took care of business."

Bayley Padia led the way with three service aces and 11 total kills with a .440 hitting percentage. Stephanie Groswirt supported her team with 18 total assists and 14 digs. 

On defense, Hazel Irving protected the floor with 5 block assists, and Valeria Bellodas had 16 digs. 

Morgan Guardado contributed to the team effort with her three aces, 12 digs and 16 assists. 

The Vaqueros look to stay undefeated in conference play when they travel to Moorpark on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m.
