High School: Played water polo and swam at Newberg Senior High … Was a varsity letterwinner for both water polo and swim … Named all-state honorable mention in junior year for water polo and won a state championship … Played club water polo with THills water polo for Chris Akerman.

Personal: Rebekah Carey was born on Nov. 1, 1996 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Majoring in Graphic Design. Her dream would be to own a graphic design firm in Seattle, WA. Enjoys exploring the beaches and hiking in her free time. Favorite aspects about college water polo are making friends, team camaraderie and cheering on teammates. “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”

Richards, Roth earn top honors from WSC

SBCC received top honors from the Western State Conference as goalie Mackenzie Richards was named Player of the Year in women’s water polo for the 2015 fall season and Chuckie Roth was the Coach of the Year.

Fourth-quarter surge lifts Vaqueros over Ventura, 9-7

SBCC fell behind Ventura 4-1 in the second quarter and trailed 5-4 entering the fourth on Wednesday at San Marcos High before rallying for a 9-7 women’s water polo triumph. The Vaqueros (14-12, 5-1 WSC) outscored the visitors 5-1 in the final quarter.

Vaqueros getting better, despite two losses

SBCC lost two more games at the Mt. SAC Classic on Saturday but Coach Chuckie Roth says his team is improving. The Vaqueros were edged by Long Beach 8-6 and then lost to American River 10-4.

Kendra Carr scored six goals on Saturday as SBCC knocked off Fresno City 9-7 and Merced 16-12 to finish 3-1 in the Central Coast Invitational women’s water polo tourney at Cuesta.

Nicole Cosares scored five goals in her college debut, leading the Vaqueros to a 16-7 victory.
