Schutze qualifies for State Championships

Sophomore Camille Schutze placed 76th in the Southern Cal Regional women’s cross country meet on Friday and earned a spot in the State Championships in two weeks.

Sophomore Camille Schutze placed 76th in the Southern Cal Regional women's cross country meet on Friday and earned a spot in the State Championships in two weeks.

She covered the 5K course at San Diego's Mission Bay Park in 21:07, which was 1:45 faster than she ran on the same course in the So Cal Preview six weeks ago. Aminat Olowora of Southwestern won the race in 17:01.

Glendale cruised to the team title with 35 points, easily beating runner-up Canyons with 115.

Schutze will run in the State Meet on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
