Ex-SBCC punter Wishnowsky picked by 49ers in 4th round of NFL Draft

Mitch Wishnowsky, an all-state punter for SBCC in 2014 and a three-time All-American at Utah, was chosen in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. The Australian was the 110th overall pick.

Martin Ahlstroem, an all-conference punter for the SBCC football team in 2018, has signed to kick and punt for West Virginia State, an NCAA Div. 2 school.

Foster is SBCC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Nick Foster has been selected as SBCC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the wide receiver on the football team received his award from the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table during Monday’s press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Café.

Barry Lamb selected for CCCFCA Football Hall of Fame

Barry Lamb, an All-American linebacker at SBCC in 1973-74, will be inducted into the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) Hall of Fame on March 9.

Nick Foster was chosen as offensive MVP and Andreas Buri landed the defensive MVP award during the SBCC football banquet on Dec. 3 at the Endless Summer Bar & Café.

Pasadena rallies to edge Vaqueros 15-14 in season finale

Pasadena City College produced two 100-yard rushers and converted a key 2-point conversion with six minutes to play on Saturday in a 15-14 come-from-behind football win over SBCC.

Vaqueros pound Santa Monica, 41-0

SBCC’s offense came alive and the defense was stifling on Saturday as the Vaqueros walloped Santa Monica 41-0 for their first APL football win at La Playa Stadium.

Vaqueros drop APC opener at L.A. Pierce, 23-7

There wasn't a lot of offense in Saturday night's American Pacific Conference football opener but L.A. Pierce benefitted from eight sacks and three SBCC turnovers to post a 23-7 win in Woodland Hills.
