Moorpark takes down Vaqueros with free throws, 90-72

SBCC canned a season-high 14 3-pointers on Wednesday night but it wasn’t enough to overcome a minus-20 difference in free throws. Moorpark made 24-of-30 from the foul line in the second half of a 90-72 men’s basketball victory at the Sports Pavilion.

First-place Bulldogs too much for Vaqueros, 68-56

Shane Carney scored a game-high 22 points on Saturday night on 7-11 shooting to lead Hancock to a 68-56 men’s basketball win over SBCC at Joe White Memorial Gym in Santa Maria.

Oxnard holds off Vaqueros, 82-73

Oxnard outshot SBCC 54.2 to 41% in the second half on Wednesday night and beat the Vaqueros for the second time in eight days, 82-73, at the Sports Pavilion.

L.A. Southwest edges Vaqueros 72-70 in overtime

Deric Daniels made a layup with 11 seconds left on Thursday night and SBCC misfired on a 3-pointer and a 15-footer, allowing L.A. Southwest to pull out a 72-70 overtime win in the opening round of the Southwest Intensity Classic.

SBCC Classic cancelled due to fire concerns

The 45th annual SBCC Classic men’s basketball tournament has been cancelled due to the Thomas Fire. Eight teams were scheduled to play Thursday through Saturday (Dec. 7-9).
