Brett Patton shot 1-under 71 in the second round on Monday, leading SBCC to a fifth-place finish in the CCCAA State Men’s Golf Championships at Kings River Country Club in Kingsburg.

Brett Patton shot a season-best 68 and added a 69 to capture the Southern Cal individual golf title.
Patton wins So Cal crown; Vaqueros advance to State Finals

Patton, Flinck finish 1-2 in WSC Championships

SBCC’s Brett Patton fired two rounds of 70 to earn medalist honors in the WSC Championships on Monday and Joakim Flinck was two strokes back in second place in the final regular-season men’s golf event at Rancho Vista GC in Palmdale.

Flinck is second at 2-under 70 in WSC No. 9

Joakim Flinck fired a season-best of 2-under 70 on Monday to take second place in the ninth WSC men's golf tournament at Olivas Links in Ventura.

Manny Manzone finished third on Monday with a 1-over 72. The freshman from Moraga, Calif., is averaging 72.0 in his last five rounds.
Manzone shoots 72; Vaqueros are third at WSC No. 8

Manny Manzone shot a 1-over 72 on Monday but his teammates had a tough time at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale and finished third in WSC No. 8.

Jonny Hogan, Joakim Flinck and Manny Manzone all shot 1-under 71s on Monday to win medalist honors in WSC No. 7 and SBCC cruised to a 14-shot win at San Dimas Golf Course.

Ledbetter is best at WSC No. 6; Canyons edges Vaqueros by 1

SBCC freshman Jake Ledbetter fired a 4-under 68 on Monday to take medalist honors in the sixth WSC men’s golf tournament at Santa Maria Country Club.

Freshman Manny Manzone shot a 1-under 71 to tie for second at WSC No. 5.

Manny Manzone shot his second straight under-par round but SBCC struggled on a very windy Monday in the high desert and finished third in WSC No. 5 men’s golf action at Antelope Valley Country Club.

Vaqueros capture Southern Cal Preview; Manzone fires 69

Manny Manzone fired a 3-under 69 on Monday and three SBCC teammates were also under par, guiding the Vaqueros to their second straight men’s golf victory. The Vaqueros shot a season-low of 3-under 357 to top the 18-team field in the prestigious Southern Cal Preview at Olivas Links GC in Ventura.

Patton is medalist at 70; Vaqueros post first WSC victory

Brett Patton shot a season-best, 2-under 70 to earn medalist honors on Monday and Jonny Hogan was second at 71, leading SBCC to its first WSC men’s golf victory at River Ridge GC in Oxnard. Patton, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, helped the Vaqueros to a one-stroke win (369-370) over previously unbeaten Canyons in WSC No. 4 on the Victoria Lakes Course.

Hogan takes medalist honors; Melendez gets 500th win

Jonny Hogan shot even-par 72 to claim medalist honors in WSC No. 2 on Monday at the Alisal Ranch golf course in Solvang. Canyons edged SBCC for the team title, 374-377.

Melendez gets 500th win as SBCC men’s golf coach

Chuck Melendez achieved a milestone on Monday when he notched the 500th Western State Conference victory of his men’s golf coaching career at SBCC. He actually surpassed it as the Vaqueros went 6-1 and took second in WSC No. 2 at their home course, Alisal Ranch, in Solvang. Melendez is 503-438-3 in his 15-year career.
