Sasha Hedberg lost a close men’s tennis match on Saturday in the CCCAA State Championship quarterfinals at the Ojai Racquet Club.

SBCC’s Sasha Hedberg won two matches on Friday to move into the quarterfinals of the CCCAA State Men’s Tennis Championships.

Hedberg, Sekban advance to Round of 32 in State

SBCC’s Sasha Hedberg and Emerson Sekban moved into the Round of 32 on Thursday on the first day of the CCCAA Men’s Tennis State Championships at the 116th Ojai Valley Tournament.

Sekban/Tufenkian fall in WSC semifinals

Emerson Sekban and Andrew Tufenkian fell behind 4-1 in their WSC doubles semifinal set on Thursday and Ventura’s Michael Burr/Guenter Newman held off the SBCC duo, 8-5.

Six Vaqueros make All-WSC team

Ryan Chung received first-team All-Western State Conference honors and five of his SBCC tennis teammates also made the squad.

Sekban/Tufenkian reach WSC semifinals; 6 Vaqueros make State

Hedberg, Sekban win twice to reach WSC quarterfinals

SBCC’s Sasha Hedberg and Emerson Sekban both won a pair of matches in straight sets on Friday to move into the quarterfinals of the WSC men’s tennis tournament at Ventura College.

Vaqueros beat Bakersfield 7-2 to move into second

Sasha Hedberg, Emerson Sekban, Ryan Chung and Andrew Tufenkian were double winners in men’s tennis on Thursday as SBCC cruised past Bakersfield 7-2 for a WSC road win.

Ventura took five of six singles on Thursday on the way to an 8-1 WSC men’s tennis win over visiting SBCC.

SBCC opened the second round of WSC men’s tennis action on Tuesday the same way it started the first, with a 9-0 win over L.A. Pierce.

Vaqueros rout Bakersfield 8-1 for first home win

SBCC won the first five singles matches on Thursday to secure its first men's tennis home win with an 8-1 decision over Bakersfield at the Pershing Park courts.

Ventura spoils Vaqueros’ home opener, 6-3

Ventura took four singles matches and two doubles on Thursday to spoil SBCC’s first home tennis match in three years with a 6-3 victory at Pershing Park.

Vaqueros blank Pierce 9-0 for first win

SBCC won every set on Tuesday and cruised past L.A. Pierce 9-0 for its first men's tennis victory of the season in Woodland Hills. It was the first win in three years for the Vaqueros (1-4, 1-0), who revived their team this year after a two-year hiatus, and their first WSC win.
