SBCC season ends in Round of 32 at State

Spencer Ekola dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to defending state champion Javi Callejo of Irvine Valley on Friday in the Round of 32 at the CCCAA Men’s Tennis State Championships.

Ekola reaches Round of 32 in State singles and doubles

Spencer Ekola swept three matches on Thursday on the first day of the CCCAA State Men’s Tennis Championships at the Ojai Tournament.

Spencer Ekola is 16-6 in singles this season and reached the semifinals of the WSC Championships.
Ekola edged by Whitaker in WSC semifinals

Spencer Ekola played a tight match with Bill Whitaker of Ventura on Friday in the WSC men’s tennis semifinals at Ventura College but came out on the short end of a 6-4, 6-4 decision.

SBCC cruised to easy wins in the first three singles on Tuesday, then Adolfo Ortega pulled out an inspirational 7-6 (9-7), 6-0 victory over Mario Cabaloza, propelling the Vaqueros to a 7-2 men’s tennis win at Bakersfield.
