Orange Coast swept SBCC out of the playoffs 25-15, 25-17, 25-12 on Friday night in a men’s volleyball state quarterfinal in Costa Mesa.

Four SBCC men’s volleyball players have been selected on the All-WSC squad.

Vaqueros draw No. 1 Orange Coast in Southern Cal Regional

SBCC was seeded No. 8 for the Southern Cal Regional men’s volleyball playoffs and will open at No. 1 Orange Coast on Friday at 6 p.m.

No. 2 Long Beach wins last two sets to sink No. 4 Vaqueros, 3-2

Things were going great for SBCC in Friday’s regular-season men’s volleyball finale as the fourth-ranked Vaqueros scored three straight points to win the third set 27-25 and take a 2-1 lead over No. 2 Long Beach in the Sports Pavilion.

Lingruen, Sanborn combine for 30 kills in 3-1 win

Trent Lingruen ripped 17 kills on Friday night and Calvin Sanborn added 13 as SBCC downed Antelope Valley 3-1 in a WSC men’s volleyball match at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 25-16, 25-23, 25-27, 25-19.

El Camino erased a 24-19 first-set deficit to win 28-26 and went on to sweep SBCC 3-0 on Wednesday in a key WSC men’s volleyball match in Torrance. The scores were 28-26, 25-21, 25-17.

SBCC swept L.A. Pierce 25-19, 25-22, 25-21 on Friday night in a WSC men’s volleyball match at Woodland Hills.

No. 5 Vaqueros outlast No. 8 Santa Monica, 3-1

SBCC downed Santa Monica 3-1 on Wednesday in a WSC men’s volleyball match on the road. The last three sets were nail-biters and the Vaqueros prevailed 25-13, 25-23, 30-32, 25-23.

Vaqueros get revenge on Moorpark, 3-1

Blake Lockhart notched a career-high 19 kills and hit .471 on Friday night as SBCC downed Moorpark 3-1 in a men’s volleyball match at the Sports Pavilion. Three of the four sets went overtime and the scores were 25-27, 26-24, 25-17, 32-30.

No. 3 Long Beach rallies to beat No. 4 Vaqueros, 3-2

SBCC took a 2-1 lead at Long Beach on Wednesday night, then the Vikings rallied to take the last two sets and pull out a 3-2 men’s volleyball win. The scores were 25-9, 18-25, 23-25, 29-27, 15-10.

Vaqueros push No. 1 Orange Coast to brink in 3-2 setback

SBCC rallied to tie No. 1 Orange Coast 2-2 on Saturday night, then dropped a 15-9 decision in the fifth set of a thrilling non-conference men’s volleyball match at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 25-23, 25-19, 28-30, 21-25, 15-9.

Calvin Sanborn racked up 16 kills and a .591 hitting percentage on Friday night, leading No. 6 SBCC to a 3-0 men’s volleyball win over No. 7 Santiago Canyon. The scores of the non-conference match in the Sports Pavilion were 25-23, 29-27, 25-21.

Vaqueros work overtime for 3-1 win at Antelope Valley

Trent Lingruen and Calvin Sanborn combined for 33 kills and 18 digs on Wednesday as SBCC worked overtime to post a 3-1 WSC men’s volleyball triumph at Antelope Valley. The scores were 26-24, 25-13, 24-26, 26-24.

No. 2 El Camino rallies past No. 6 Vaqueros, 3-2

SBCC pulled within a point on two occasions -- a stuff block by Zac Pittard (13-12) and a solo block by Pittard on a spike from a back-row hitter to make it 14-13. Then Gabriel Vargas-Featherstone drove a kill off the block on the right side on match point.
