Fresno’s Woodward Park has held a special significance for SBCC men's and women’s cross country coach Scott Fickerson the last two years. Dating back to 2012, SBCC qualified both squads to the CCCAA State Championship in Woodward Park.
Alex Heuchert grabbed fifth place in the season-opening Ventura Invitational men’s cross country race at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura. The sophomore from San Marcos High covered the 4-mile course in 22:28. He moved up from 23rd at the mile mark to fifth, shaving 1:02 off his time from last year.
