Townes gets scholarship to New Mexico

Sydney Townes will continue her softball career at the University of New Mexico after accepting a scholarship with the Lobos on Wednesday.

Bosio named head coach of Vaquero softball

Justine Bosio has been selected as the new head coach of SBCC softball. The former Dos Pueblos High and Colorado State-Pueblo standout becomes the third coach in program history and the first new head coach in 20 years.

Monica Salas, a two-time All-WSC North performer, hit .402 with seven homers and 74 RBIs the last two years.

Richter sparks sweep of Santa Monica in season finale

Alyssa Richter went 2-3 with a two-run homer and four RBIs in Game 2 on Tuesday, leading SBCC to an 11-0, five-inning softball win for a doubleheader sweep at Santa Monica. The Vaqueros were leading 9-0 in the opener when the Corsairs had to forfeit due to a lack of players in the bottom of the third. The game goes down as a 7-0 forfeit win

Vaqueros score four in 7th to sweep Cuesta on Sophomore Day

SBCC saved its best for last on Saturday, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 4-3 walk-off win over Cuesta and complete a WSC North doubleheader softball sweep at Pershing Park.

Emily Gantt delivered a pinch-hit grand slam in a six-run fourth inning on Thursday as first-place Hancock downed SBCC 8-3 in a WSC North softball game at Pershing Park.

SBCC looked sharp in a 5-3 first-game win over second-place Ventura on Tuesday but couldn’t sustain that momentum in an 8-3 loss in Game 2 of a WSC North softball doubleheader at Pershing Park.

Alyssa Richter blasted back-to-back 3-run home runs to open the second game on Tuesday as SBCC split a WSC North softball doubleheader with Moorpark. The Raiders won the first game 5-3 and the Vaqueros took the nightcap 13-6.
