Three Vaqueros make All-WSC team

Three SBCC athletes have been selected to the All-WSC North softball team. Shelby Featherston, Janet Salas and Paige Powell were honorable mention.

Santa Monica spoils Vaqueros’ home finale, 7-2

SBCC’s red-hot bats went silent for the second straight game on Tuesday and Santa Monica registered a 7-2 WSC softball win at Pershing Park.

Cuesta surprises Vaqueros with 3-2 walk-off win

Cuesta scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh on Friday to edge SBCC 3-2 in a WSC North softball game in San Luis Obispo.

LoneTree, Salas spark 11-7 win over Moorpark

Emily LoneTree went 2-3 with a two-run homer and three RBIs on Thursday, leading SBCC to an 11-7 softball win over Moorpark at Pershing Park.

Vaqueros continue offensive assault in 17-6 win at Oxnard

SBCC scored 10 runs in the last three innings on Tuesday en route to a 17-6 revenge softball win at Oxnard. The Condors (13-16-1, 7-6) had beaten the Vaqueros 5-2 in Santa Barbara 16 days ago.

21 runs and 18 hits aren’t enough for Vaqueros in wild DH loss

SBCC scored plenty of runs in Saturday’s non-conference softball doubleheader at Pershing Park. The problem was L.A. Valley scored more as the Monarchs swept the twinbill, 9-8 and 19-13.

Vaqueros erupt for 12-run inning in a 16-3 rout

SBCC batted for about 35 minutes in the second inning on Friday, scoring 12 runs on 9 hits in a 16-3, five-inning softball win over Cuesta at Pershing Park.

Powell throws 1-hitter in 10-0 victory at L.A. Pierce

Paige Powell tossed a 1-hitter and Janet Salas went 2-3 with two RBIs on Tuesday, leading SBCC to a 10-0 softball win over L.A. Pierce in five innings.

Red-hot Riverside stymies Vaqueros, 16-2

Riverside piled up 16 runs on 17 hits on Saturday and Brianna Arroyo pitched a two-hitter in a 16-2 softball win over SBCC at Pershing Park. The non-conference game was called after five innings by the 8-run rule.

Vaqueros’ 7th-inning rally falls short, 5-4

SBCC scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on Thursday afternoon and had the bases loaded with two outs before Hancock’s Shaylyn Coy got Kayana Diaz to fly out to right field to secure the Bulldogs’ 5-4 WSC North softball victory at Pershing Park.

Oxnard sinks Vaqueros with six-run fifth inning, 11-4

Oxnard’s Giselle Roldan broke open a tight 5-4 softball game on Monday with a grand slam in a six-run fifth inning that carried the Condors to an 11-4 victory over SBCC at Pershing Park.

Powell’s pitching helps Vaqueros split twinbill

Paige Powell turned in 11 solid innings in the circle on Friday and SBCC split a WSC doubleheader at Pershing Park. The Vaqueros fell to Ventura 4-1 in the opener, then blanked L.A. Pierce 8-0 in five innings.

Orange Coast scored six runs in the first and six in the fourth on Tuesday on the way to a 12-0 softball win over visiting SBCC.

Vaqueros split a pair; Salas belts first college homer

SBCC dropped a tough 9-8 softball decision at San Diego City College on Saturday on a walk-off single in the last inning, then rebounded to beat Imperial Valley 5-3.

Citrus scores three in the fifth to edge Vaqueros, 5-4

SBCC took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth on Friday, then Citrus responded with three in the bottom of the fifth to pull out a 5-4 softball win in Glendora.

Moorpark took a 5-0 lead in the fifth inning on Tuesday and went on to beat SBCC 5-2 in a WSC softball game at Moorpark.
