Three Vaqueros earn All-WSC honors

SBCC sophomore Andrea Morales was named to the first-team All-WSC North women’s basketball squad with Darla Morales and Sylvia Hoover-Purter getting honorable mention.

Morales sisters spark 28-point rout at L.A. Pierce

Darla Morales scored 17 points with eight rebounds off the bench on Saturday and her twin sister Andrea Morales added 15 points as SBCC finished strong to beat L.A. Pierce 83-55 in the final regular-season women’s basketball game at Woodland Hills.

Cosio guides Vaqueros past Hancock in home finale

Alyssa Cosio poured in a season-high 19 points on Wednesday and SBCC topped Hancock for the second time this year, 61-53, on Sophomore Night at the Sports Pavilion.

No. 8 Ventura rides big second half to 63-47 win

SBCC hung with Ventura for the first half on Saturday night, then the eighth-ranked Pirates went on a 10-2 run to open the second stanza on the way to a 63-47 women’s basketball victory at the Sports Pavilion.

Alyssa Cosio, a freshman from Santa Barbara High, had six offensive rebounds and eight total. She has 17 boards in her last two contests.
Cuesta takes advantage of cold-shooting Vaqueros, 64-33

Cuesta built a 43-18 halftime lead on Wednesday night and went on to defeat SBCC 64-33 in a WSC North women’s basketball game in San Luis Obispo.

Stella Dulay hit 8-19 field goals and scored 19 points in the Vaqueros' fourth straight win. She's scored 10 or more in six of the last eight games.
Dulay tallies 19 in 63-61 come-from-behind win

Stella Dulay poured in 19 points on Saturday night and SBCC rallied to win a women’s basketball game of streaks at Moorpark, 63-61.

SBCC jumped ahead 11-0 and 17-2 on Wednesday night en route to a 68-52 women’s basketball victory over Oxnard at the Sports Pavilion.

Stella Dulay scored 12 of her 19 points in the opening half and SBCC used a balanced attack to down L.A. Pierce 77-61 on Wednesday in a WSC North game at the Sports Pavilion.

SBCC shot a season-low 14.3 percent on Wednesday and No. 10 Ventura hit 45.5 percent in a 71-27 WSC North victory.

Vaqueros drop a heartbreaker in OT

After leading for most of the second half on Wednesday night, the SBCC women's basketball team lost a 68-67 heartbreaker to Moorpark in overtime. After Lindsay Neuner missed two free throws, the Vaqueros (5-12, 0-2) had the ball with 13.6 seconds left.

Oxnard jumped out to leads of 13-1 and 23-5 in Saturday’s WSC North game and SBCC rallied but could never get the lead in a 72-65 setback at Oxnard.

Da’Netra Pollard tossed in a 40-foot buzzer-beater to force overtime and Barstow went on to down SBCC 80-71 on Sunday in the consolation final of the Antelope Valley Holiday Tournament in Lancaster.
