5 Vaqueros make All-American; 15 on All-WSC team

Five SBCC swimmers have received All-American recognition and 15 made the All-WSC Swimming & Diving team. Kelee Shimizu and Sarah Parson were All-Americans in three individual events and five relays.

400 free relay takes second; Vaqueros finish seventh in State

SBCC recorded its highest finish ever in a State relay by taking second in the meet-closing 400 free relay on Saturday in the CCCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at De Anza College.

Shimizu, Parson help Vaqueros move up to seventh in State

Kelee Shimizu and Sarah Parson placed fifth in the 200 free and 100 breast, respectively, on Thursday as SBCC went from 10th to seventh on Day 2 of the CCCAA State Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at De Anza College.

Vaqueros set two school records on Day 1 of State Championships

Kelee Shimzu won the consolation race of the 500 freestyle and broke a school record on Thursday, the first day of the State Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at De Anza College in Cupertino.

Kelee Shimizu was in the spotlight at the WSC Championships. She was named Athlete of the Week after winning 3 freestyle races and 3 relays.

Kelee Shimizu was selected as female Athlete of the Week on Monday during the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Café.

Parson breaks her school record; SBCC storms into first at WSC Finals

Sarah Parson broke her school record while winning the 100 breaststroke on Friday and Kelee Shimizu took the 200 freestyle as SBCC stormed into first place on Day 2 of the WSC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at Bakersfield College.

Kelee Shimizu, a freshman from Hawaii, won the 500 free in 5:16.44 -- the second-fastest time in school history.

Kelee Shimizu won the grueling 500 freestyle on Thursday and Kendra Carr set a school record in the 50 free on Day 1 of the WSC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships at Bakersfield College.

Anna Watkins placed second and Erika Muehring took fourth in the WSC 3-meter diving final on Saturday at El Camino College.

Kelee Shimizu took second in the 1650 freestyle and fifth in the 100 free on Saturday, helping SBCC to a third-place finish in the 18th annual Pasadena Invitational women’s swimming & diving meet.
