Mueller takes fourth in State heptathlon; Ochoa is sixth in discus

Andrea Mueller posted the sixth-best long jump in SBCC history on Saturday and took fourth in the heptathlon on the final day of the CCCAA State Track & Field Championships at American River College in Sacramento.

Costello gets second in thrilling 10,000 final

SBCC’s Tiffany Costello earned second place in the 10,000-meter final on Saturday in the Southern Cal Women’s Track & Field Prelims at Cerritos College. The 10,000 was the only final of the day.

Ochoa claims 2nd WSC title in the hammer; Vaqueros finish fourth

Alana Ochoa claimed her second WSC title on Friday with a PR of 40.44 meters in the hammer at the WSC Women’s Track & Field Championships at Moorpark College.

Alana Ochoa, a freshman from San Marcos High, claimed the WSC discus title with a 40.47-meter toss (132 feet, 9¼ inches) at Bakersfield College.

Andrea Mueller grabbed fourth place in the long jump and 800 on Wednesday on the way to a fifth-place finish in the Southern Cal Heptathlon at Cerritos College.

Ochoa claims hammer and discus at WSC Coastal Meet

Alana Ochoa recorded two firsts and two seconds in the throws on Friday in the WSC Coastal Meet at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.

Carolin Bothe ran a season-best 5:10.34 to place seventh against a strong 1500 field that included four-year runners.

Mueller breaks 26-year-old school record in heptathlon

Andrea Mueller set a new SBCC record in the women’s heptathlon by scoring 4382 points on Thursday and Friday in the Jim Klein Combined Events at Westmont College.

SBCC’s Andrea Muelller is in third place in a strong heptathlon field after the first day of the Jim Klein Combined Events track and field meet at Westmont College.

Alana Ochoa, shown throwing the hammer, took first in the discus, third in the hammer, fourth in the javelin and fifth in the shot put. Her discus mark of 39.61 meters is the third-best in school history.
Ochoa wins discus with No. 3 mark in school history

Alana Ochoa was a busy thrower on Friday, winning the discus and placing in the top five in three other events at the Antelope Valley Invitational women’s track & field meet in Lancaster.

Carolin Bothe, a freshman from Stuhr, Germany, won her heat in the 800 in a season-best 2:23.64.
Costello breaks 31-year-old record in 5000

Tiffany Costello set a new SBCC women’s track and field record in the 5000 on Friday and the Vaqueros recorded seven season bests in the Occidental Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic.
