Canyons ends Vaqueros’ season in Regional Final, 3-1

All-American outside hitter Emily Bible had 20 kills and 13 digs on Tuesday night, leading No. 4 Canyons to a 3-1 women’s volleyball upset of No. 1 SBCC in a Southern Cal Regional Final at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 22-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-17.

SBCC rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Mt. San Antonio 3-2 on Tuesday night in the first round of the Southern Cal Regional women’s volleyball playoffs at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 23-25, 23-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-6.

SBCC sophomore Katelynn Womack has been named Player of the Year in WSC North women’s volleyball and seven teammates made all-conference.

Vaqueros sweep Mission to claim fourth straight WSC title

SBCC overcame a 24-22 deficit in the third set on Wednesday night to sweep L.A. Mission 3-0 and secure its fourth straight WSC North women’s volleyball title on Sophomore Night at the Sports Pavilion. The Vaqueros finished on a 4-0 run to complete the 25-18, 25-22, 26-24 WSC North victory.

Shiloe Parsons showed excellent distribution skills on Friday night, leading No. 2-ranked SBCC to a 3-1 women’s volleyball victory at No. 23 Ventura. The Vaqueros overcame a first-set loss to win 16-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

Shannon Friend recorded 21 kills and a .487 hitting percentage on Friday night as No. 2 SBCC overcame a slow start to defeat Moorpark 3-1 in a WSC women’s volleyball match at the Sports Pavilion. The scores were 25-18, 13-25, 25-21, 25-16.

Shiloe Parsons had 38 assists, eight digs and two aces on Wednesday night as No. 2 SBCC swept past Hancock 25-18, 25-17, 25-10 in a WSC North women’s volleyball match in Santa Maria.

Pierce takes rubber match in 1 vs. 2 battle

L.A. Pierce edged SBCC 3-1 on Friday night in the rubber match between the two top-ranked women’s volleyball teams in the state. The scores of the WSC North match in Woodland Hills were 25-20, 27-25, 23-25, 26-24.
