Mackenzie Richards, a two-time All-American goalie on SBCC’s highly successful women’s water polo team, has accepted a scholarship to play for Fresno State in the 2017-18 season.

Addison Seale was selected as SBCC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and honored on Monday during the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Café.

Seale is WSC Player of the Year; 5 Vaqueros are All-American

SBCC’s Addison Seale has been named WSC Player of the Year and All-American in women’s water polo. Five Vaqueros received All-American honors and 10 were named to the All-WSC team.

Riverside edges Vaqueros 9-8 in OT to win State title

Mary Myers scored with 10 seconds left in the first overtime to lift No. 2 Riverside to a 9-8 overtime win over SBCC in the CCCAA State women’s water polo championship game.

Vaqueros top Sierra 17-7 to move into State final

SBCC took a 7-2 halftime lead on Friday morning and scored seven goals in the final period to beat Sierra 17-7 in the CCCAA State women’s water polo semifinals at Las Positas College in Livermore.

The top-ranked Vaqueros, who started their team 3 years ago, have won 3 straight WSC titles and earned their first Southern Cal championship with a 10-7 win over Riverside.

Kendra Carr tallied six first-half goals on Friday morning, leading No. 1 SBCC to an 11-5 win over No. 9 Mt. San Antonio in a Southern Cal Regional women’s water polo quarterfinal at Golden West College.

Vaqueros seeded No. 1 for Southern Cal Regional

SBCC has been seeded No. 1 for the Southern Cal Regional women’s water polo tournament. The WSC champion Vaqueros were also selected No. 1 in the first state poll conducted by KAP7 International.

Vaqueros top Ventura 15-8 to claim 3rd straight WSC title

SBCC jumped ahead 8-4 at the half and went on to defeat Ventura 15-8 on Saturday to claim its third straight WSC women’s water polo championship at Cuesta College.

Seale nets 9 goals in 2 wins; No. 1 Vaqueros advance to WSC final

SBCC won two games on Thursday to advance to the championship game in the WSC Women’s Water Polo Tournament at Cuesta in San Luis Obispo. The top-seeded Vaqueros beat No. 8 Santa Monica 11-4 and No. 5 Citrus 21-7.

Kendra Carr scored seven goals on Friday and SBCC cruised past Southwestern 19-4 and Hancock 12-7 on the first day of the Vaqueros’ Halloween women’s water polo tournament at Santa Barbara High.

No. 2 Riverside scored three goals in overtime on Saturday to hand No. 1 SBCC its first loss 10-7 and claim the championship of the prestigious Battle at the Beach women’s water polo tournament at Cerritos College.
