Russell-Sadoff is SBCC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year

Alyssa Russell-Sadoff has been selected as SBCC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The freshman water polo player and swimmer from Agoura High received her award during Monday’s press luncheon of the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table at Harry’s Plaza Café.

Halie Johnson scored four goals and goalie Nicole Poulos made four saves and four steals on Friday, sparking No. 1-ranked SBCC to an 11-7 semifinal win over San Joaquin Delta in the CCCAA Women's Water Polo Championships at Cuesta College.

No. 1 Vaqueros to face San Joaquin Delta in State semifinal

SBCC is the No. 1 seed from the South for the CCCAA Women’s Water Polo State Final Four and will take on South #2 San Joaquin Delta on Friday at 2:15 p.m. at Cuesta College.

No. 2 SBCC dropped a 12-7 decision to No. 3 Orange Coast in Saturday’s semifinals of the Battle at the Beach women’s water polo tournament, then claimed third place with a 12-7 triumph over Sierra of Rocklin, Calif.
