Ramirez takes 31st in Southern Cal Preview

Alex Ramirez placed 31st in the Southern Cal Preview men's cross country race on Friday, leading SBCC to 14th in the 30-team field.

Ramirez, a freshman from Buena High, ran 22:03 on the 4-mile course at Mission Bay Park in San Diego. Teammate Adam Grimmitt was 55th in 22:28 and Bradley Apodaca took 62nd in 22:32.

Michael Teran of San Bernardino Valley topped the field of 204 runners in 20:33.

American River was first with 86 points, beating Mt. SAC by 11. Riverside and San Bernardino tied for third at 120. Santa Barbara took 14th with 406 points.

SBCC returns to action in the WSC Preview on Friday, Oct. 2 at Oxnard College, starting at 11:45 a.m.
