Jacobson, Dettmann go 1-2 in diving at Pasadena Invitational
Gina Jacobson and Ashley Dettmann posted a 1-2 finish for SBCC in the 1- and 3-meter diving events on Thursday on the opening day of the 17th Pasadena Invitational Swim & Dive meet.

Jacobson, a freshman from Madison, Wis., topped 11 divers from six schools in the 1-meter with 223.30 points. Dettmann was second at 211.30 and Haley Service of Mt. San Antonio took third at 138.55.
Jacobson is 10-2 on the year, including 6-0 in 1-meter events.
Jacobson also won the 3-meter springboard with 248.00 points. Dettman took second at 205.80 and Kaitlyn Smith of Orange Coast finished third with 129.80.
Dettman, a freshman from Coronado, Calif., posted season highs in both events.
"I couldn't be prouder of our ladies," said SBCC coach Trish Salvatore. "They keep getting better every meet. We're charged up and looking forward to qualifying for state at next week's meet at El Camino."
The Vaquero swimmers will compete in the Pasadena Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The next diving meet is the WSC/Southern Cal Championships on April 14-15 at El Camino College.
