Vaqueros fall in semifinal 12-7, finish third in Regional

Riverside grabbed an early 4-1 lead and then wore SBCC down in a 12-7 So Cal Regional semifinal win. The third-ranked Vaqueros returned to the Riverside pool on Saturday evening and beat No. 5 Citrus 10-5 to take third in the Regional.

Vaqueros down Golden West 10-4 in Regional; Brooks breaks scoring record

Taylor Brooks tossed in five goals to break the SBCC single-season scoring record on Friday night and the third-seeded Vaqueros knocked off No. 6 Golden West 10-4 in a Southern Cal Regional quarterfinal at Riverside City College.

It was all treats for SBCC on Saturday as the No. 2-ranked Vaqueros won three games to complete a 4-0 run in their Halloween Invitational at Santa Barbara High.

Vaqueros split two thrilling games at LBCC Battle at the Beach

Hana Wigzell score the tying goal with 1:40 remaining against Long Beach City College and Annie Ackert converted a penalty shot one minute later to send SBCC to a 12-11 win over LBCC in the third-place game of the LBCC Battle at the Beach. Earlier in the day, the second-ranked Vaqueros dropped an exciting 7-6 overtime contest to No. 3 Riverside.

Vaqueros win first two at LBCC Battle at the Beach

SBCC had seven different goal scorers in game one and Taylor Brooks found the back of the net six times in game two as No. 2 SBCC topped Orange Coast College (12-5) and No. 9 Sierra College on day one of the Long Beach City College Battle at the Beach at Cerritos College as the Vaqueros moved to 21-3 on the season.

Riverside stops streaking Vaqueros, 11-9

After cruising past San Joaquin Delta 9-3 in an early morning women’s water polo tilt, SBCC ran into a strong Riverside squad on Saturday and suffered its first loss of the season, 11-9, at the Riverside Tournament.

Brooks scores 7 goals in two wins; Johnson gets rare shutout

SBCC dominated the first halves on Friday morning on the way to two victories on Day 1 of the Riverside Tournament. The Vaqueros topped previously unbeaten Golden West 12-7 and then notched a rare 14-0 shutout of Orange Coast.

Allison Kay scored a season-high four goals as the Vaqueros opened WSC play with a 9-6 win at Citrus.
Vaqueros win two more, boost record to 7-0

SBCC won a pair of women’s water polo games on Thursday, including a 9-6 decision at Citrus in the WSC opener at Glendora.

The Vaqueros are off to a 5-0 start under sixth-year coach Chuckie Roth. They've won 30 or more games for three straight years with a combined record of 94-10.
