18 Vaqueros going to next level

Eighteen members of the 2015 Vaquero baseball team are moving on to play at four-year colleges or pro baseball. Ten will play in NCAA Div. 1, five in Div. 2 and two at NAIA schools. It's the highest number of transfers in school history.

4 Vaqueros picked in Major League Draft

Four SBCC baseball players have been chosen in the 2015 Major League Draft, led by sixth-round pick Tyler Gilbert.

Orange Coast tops Vaqueros to win Sectional

Orange Coast broke open a 1-1 game with five runs in the sixth on Sunday and went on to beat SBCC 10-2 in Game 3 of the CCCAA Southern California Baseball Sectional at Pershing Park.

Pirates top Vaqueros 5-2 to force decisive Game 3

Orange Coast used strong pitching from left-hander Dominic Purpura and homers by Tommy Bell and Stefan Panayiotou to post a 5-2 baseball win over SBCC on Saturday that evened the best-of-3 Southern Cal Sectional series at 1-1.

Barry holds Pirates to two hits in 3-1 Sectional victory

Sean Barry pitched no-hit ball for seven innings on Friday and No. 3 SBCC scored three early runs to beat No. 10 Orange Coast 3-1 in Game 1 of the Southern Cal Sectional baseball series at Pershing Park.

Fullerton edges Vaqueros 2-1 in 13 innings

Fullerton scored the go-ahead run in the 13th inning after an error, then held on to beat SBCC 2-1 on Friday in Game 1 of the Southern Cal Super Regional baseball series at Pershing Park.

Henderson is SBCC Male Student-Athlete of the Year

Matt Henderson has been chosen as SBCC’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year for the 2014-15 season.

Hill, Walker get top honors from WSC North

James Hill was selected as co-Player of the Year on the All-WSC North baseball team and SBCC’s Jeff Walker earned co-Coach of the Year honors. They shared their awards with Oxnard pitcher Blake Redman and coach Jon Larson.

No. 3 Vaqueros to host Rio Hondo in So Cal Regional
No. 3 Vaqueros to host Rio Hondo in So Cal Regional

SBCC was seeded No. 3 for the Southern Cal Regional baseball playoffs and will host No. 14 Rio Hondo on Friday at 2 p.m. The best-of-3 series continues on Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by a third game if necessary.
